Apprentices & Trainees

What is an Apprenticeship/Traineeship?
An Apprenticeship or Traineeship is a paid job. Practical work experience is combined with training from a nationally accredited training package. Traineeships last either one or two years and cover a wide range of occupations such as Business Administration, Management and Leadership or even Horticulture. An apprenticeship traditionally lasts four years and cover trades such as Electrical, Manufacturing, Automotive, Engineering, Hospitality, Plumbing, Hair dressing, Building and Construction.

If you are of legal working age, whether you are a school leaver or of mature-age wanting a career change or even just wanting to re-enter the workforce, then yes, you can apply for an Apprenticeship or Traineeship.
School-Based Apprenticeship/Traineeship
School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBAT) provide students aged 15 years or older with valuable employment skills, hands-on industry experience and a nationally recognised qualification, while still completing secondary school qualifications. A SBAT is a part time Apprenticeship or Traineeship with is designed in partnership with your school and chosen training provider. It is important to note, a SBAT can only be an option when you maintain your secondary school enrolment and your school can support this model. Most of the Apprenticeships and Traineeships can be offered as a SBAT.
